Your Opportunity
We are looking for an Academic Assistant to join our team. You will join a core team of motivated and ambitious individuals with a shared goal to make an impact in our sector. About You
As our Academic Assistant, you will work closely with our Academic Team in a dynamic role which includes client-facing, strategic planning, quality assurance and problem-solving.
The following are our required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field (equivalent to EQF Level 6)
- Excellent problem-solving skills including troubleshooting and identifying the issue, proposing efficient and effective solutions and implementing solutions
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as a consistent, dependable performer with an excellent work ethic
- Keen attention to detail, organised, efficient and proactive
- Strong time management skills and comfortable working to deadlines
- Right to work and based in Malta
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite inc. Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate succinctly and accurately in verbal and written English and Italian
Additional Skills and Qualifications (Desirable)
- Bachelor’s Degree in an education-related field (equivalent to EQF Level 6)
- 3-years previous experience in a similar role
- Additional language, especially Spanish, French or German
- Familiar with a student management system
- Familiar with academic processes
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling – Coordinate with academic manager to ensure all required academic staff is available
- Assessments – Collating questions, learning outcome weights, marking and results
- Coordinate with admissions and administrative team
- Delivery of assessments (online/paper), result, transcripts
- Online sessions set up
- Ensure that student status is updated on Student Management System
- Communicate with students for enrolment, including for choice and submission of electives
- Collate and review ‘practical work experience’ (PWE) evaluator/supervisor reports
- Coordination of student events
- Ensure students have access to digital campus (Classter, Teams, E-libraries, etc.)
- Keep iStudent hub updated
- Assist in updating internal documents/handbooks for students/lecturers
- Check attendance of lecturers
- Support in business development where appropriate
